Fertilization & Weed Control

The maintenance system usually includes four applications per season. This may vary depending on customer needs. We provide individualized service to achieve optimum turf quality all the time.

Broadleaf Weed Control

Our Weed Control System consists of one broadleaf application in early summer followed by another in the fall.  Two times annually will effectively control the weeds for a very high-end lawn.  In some cases, spot treatments may be necessary.  These are free for maintenance customers.

We fertilize twice annually.  The spring application includes an ingredient for pre-emergent and post-emergent crabgrass control as well as a slow release fertilizer that feeds all summer.  The fall application is an all-mineral fertilizer that promotes turf health during dormancy and early green-up in the spring.  The major benefit of this is that fertilizing during the cool months promotes slow growth and requires less water.  A summer application is only necessary in cases where the grass is grossly over-watered.

Look what people are saying...

I sleep well at night during a snowstorm because I've learned that no matter how large the storm, Lawn By The Yard will have our two large church campuses plowed promptly. They have provided us great service for years. I highly recommend Lawn By The Yard for both lawn service and snowplowing.
